A WW2 RAF Fighter Plane Found in the Middle of the Sahara Desert [15 Pics]

Experts claim this to be the aviation equivalent of Tutankhamun's Tomb in terms of how well the airplane has been preserved in the dry desert climate. It was discovered solely by chance, when a Polish oil worker Jakub Perka spotted it while exploring the remote region of the Western Desert in Egypt.

First Skydiver to Land Without a Parachute [Video]

A British stuntman Gary Connery jumped out of a helicopter at the altitude of 2,400 feet (732 meters) to land in a huge landing strip made out of cardboard boxes. He is the first man to accomplish a skydive jump without a chute. Apparently the landing was “really soft on my face” hahaha!

Sharana, Afghanistan – a bad miscalculation on pilot's part after which he will never be able to fly an army aircraft again. Surprisingly no criminal charges were laid, considering that one of these costs around $20,000,000. According to sources, the co-pilot is still in recovery and is awaiting judgement. Fortunately no one on the ground was injured.

The General Electric GAU–8/A Avenger is a 30mm hydraulically–driven seven-barrel Gatling–type rotary cannon that is mounted on the USA's Fairchild Republic A–10 Thunderbolt II. It is among the largest, heaviest and most powerful aircraft cannons in the US military and the world. The A–10 Thunderbolt was basically designed around this cannon.
