The concept of magnetically controlled robots isn't a new one, but controlling more than one has proved difficult in the past, due to magnetic fields. SRI International has developed robots that are extremely fast and can work in large groups (which was solved by placing circuit boards under the robots).

The students from Fall River, Nova Scotia won a national science contest held by the Canadian Space Agency with their experiment on surface tension in space using a wet washcloth.
